This page is very personal to me since I lost my own mom back in 2002 to a car accident. That day changed my life forever and I still struggle after all these years with not having one more moment to say goodbye. It still pains me to this day, but I have vowed to go on in life.
Mothers Day was one that I celebrated every year with my small little gifts and cards. My mom was the only one that understood me in the family and the only one that truly cared. There were so many questions left unanswered when she left this world.
Out of this pain, I wrote many of the songs on my first CD, Dancing With Life. Relaxing Spa Music, Mother’s Day, came out of a request to create a beautiful CD for someone to give to her clients. It was a perfect opportunity to honor my own mom once again and give to those mothers that I would never know, but who would enjoy my music.
Relaxing Spa Music: Mother’s Day is a collection of the songs that felt right to me and not only were created out of my pain, but out of my own growth and healing. It was put together in a sequence that flowed from one feeling and emotion and thought to another.
The CD of music was my way of honoring my mother but moving on through the grief into the realization of just how much she did for me. She shielded me from so much that I was not aware of when she was alive.
Mothers are special people. They endure and sustain life for us. They give us everything, including life and food and health. They give of themselves in a way that surpasses all understanding.
We should celebrate our mothers every day and year that we have with them. You never know when the next moment will never arrive. In the blink of an eye, they can disappear from this world.
Make it a point on this day and this year, not just this Mother’s Day, to let your own mom know how much they mean to you. Let them know how much you love and care about them. Don’t wait until its too late!
