Hey everyone – do you know when Mother’s Day is? Ok, right now, I’m referring to the UK? It is March 11. The US Mother’s Day is May 13 this year.

So, while I’m not exactly sure how the UK celebrates Mother’s Day, I wanted to give a big shout out across the big pond to all the moms. You’re all special no matter where you or I live. Sometimes we forget about other places in the world and when they celebrate things.

Actually, if you live in the UK, I’d love to hear how you celebrate Mother’s Day. What do you do? How do you show Mom she is special?

For me, I don’t think you need to spend a million dollars on your mom on Mother’s Day. There are so many ways you can make her feel special and loved. In fact, I’ve got a feeling if you just spent the day with her, that would mean so much.

When my mom was alive, I loved to make little things for her. If there were flowers to pick, I’d pick some for her. I would take walks with her because that is something she loved to do. It was always a special time for me to take a walk alone with my mom.

I tried to make dinner for her when I could and I made sure she did not have to clean up the kitchen after the meal.

Most of the time, I made a card for her because they just seemed to be much better than anything you could buy in the store. All these years later, I think the card manufacturers miss the mark on greeting cards. They are either just stupid cards or they don’t say what you really feel. Sometimes they are just too generic for my taste.

Regardless of how you choose to celebrate your mom on Mother’s Day in the UK, don’t forget her! Make it a special day for her and you so that you both can cherish it forever.
